Aryenish Birdie

Encompass was founded by Aryenish Birdie, an animal advocate for over 20 years. She’s worked in other social justice movements and has been trained on how to develop the capacity of organizations by the School of Unity and Liberation, Race Forward and the Center for Social Inclusion, and several veteran DEI consultants. Aryenish received an interdisciplinary Bachelor’s degree from Hampshire College in critical social thought, and race and feminist theory. She completed her Master’s degree, magna cum laude, in Public Management from Johns Hopkins University.

Michelle Rojas-Soto

Encompass’ managing director, Michelle Rojas-Soto, has over 18 years of leadership experience in nonprofit and social enterprise work. Michelle has been an advocate for disability rights, racial justice, women’s rights, and LGBTQ+ rights. She is currently the chair of the Inclusion committee for the Superintendent’s Parent Advisory Council in Glendale USD, pioneering a comprehensive anti-bias initiative. She served on the board of directors for Pearls of Africa Children’s Home in Gulu, Uganda and was co-organizer for LA Tech4Good. Michelle has a Master’s in Biology from Caltech and a Master’s in Business Administration from USC.
