Shifting for success

By Brialle Ringer | November 9, 2021

It is with a light heart and confident spirit that I share the news that I’ve decided to shift my role as Encompass’ program director to caucus and social media manager.

I recently unexpectedly stepped into a care-taking role for a family member that has greatly limited my capacity. Between the full-time role as Program Director, my own projects Be Well with Brialle and The Black Women’s Healing Haven – the addition of a family challenge that resulted in an unexpected move across the country has become one too many plates to spin.

I’m not able to bring 100% of my brilliance to work for animals nor Encompass if I’m stretching myself too thin and dancing on the edge of burnout. I’m committed to living a full and authentic life where I am able to share my gifts and talents in a way that serves the highest good of all beings on the planet. Right now that looks like honoring my limited capacity, stepping back, and shifting into greater alignment.

I wholeheartedly standby the incredible work of Encompass, which is why I’m so delighted to continue supporting our mission, but in a way that feels more aligned. I’m beyond grateful for the openness of Encompass to work with me through these unforeseen circumstances to create a place for me in this work that is mutually beneficial.

Truthfully, my outgoing personality and natural ability to connect and build relationships felt stifled with the research and writing heavy requirements of my previous position. At the heart of it, I’m a connector that loves interacting with people. I’ll now be sharing my passion for empowering Black, Indigenous, and people of the global majority and expertise in social media in my new role as caucus and social media manager. This shift will allow greater flexibility and reduced hours as I tend to family matters.

As I step back from being the program director, I do so with eager openness to whomever leads the work of creating our membership program for organizations. I trust that there is someone out there who is perfectly aligned with this opportunity and has the capacity, passion, and expertise needed to take on this initiative powerfully. If you think you might be that person, you can apply here. I look forward to welcoming the new program director to our team and working together to create an equitable animal protection movement.
